In 2023 we finished off the year with what I'm going to say is the party of the year!
Hamish & Zoe Foster Blake threw their annual party for friends at their home which was transformed into The Gold Leaf Casino!
The costumes were spectacular and the guests list was one that you'd see on the red carpet at Logies. I'm terrible with names and generally wouldn't recognise a celebrity if they walked past me in the street, but here's a few names that I can remember:
Brad 'Freddy' Fitler (Roosters & Australian NRL Player) - Hugh Van Cuylenbury (Writer, Podcaster & Keynote Speaker) - Magic Mike 'Not a Stripper (Magician) - Max Gawn, Ed Langdon & Jake Lever (AFL Demons players), I didn't recognise these guys at all, although I'm not much into AFL, but our Craps dealer on the night Daniel Kelso was in awe, being a life long Demons supporter it's understandable - Ned Brockmann (made a name for himself by running non-stop from Perth to Bondi in 47 days and raised over 2.5 MILLION DOLLARS) - Michael 'Wippa' Wipfli (Nova 96.9 Radio & TV) - Tom Ivey & Matt De Groot (Nova 96.9 Radio) - Ryan Shelton (Radio, Comedian, TV).
That's about all I got off the top of my head, but I'm sure everyone else in the room were just as successful and famous as some of the names above.
Let's not forget the stars of the event Hamish & Zoe Foster Blake! They both looked fabulous in their costumes and are absolutely the most humble and down to Earth people you will meet... they're just like us! But with millions of dollars...
The majority of the event was put together by Hamish's personal assistant Falcon Montecristo. Falcon is such a top bloke who appreciated our suggestions and trusted that we would deliver an exceptional event for the Blakes. Falcon is, in his words, 'A Legend!'
Overall the night was made spectacular from the costumes everyone wore. Non of this half arsed, "I'll just wear a suit and sunnies and say I'm someone off the Hangover movie", nope, these guys all put 110% effort into designing something fabulous to wear, Hugh Van Cuylenburg looked like a totally different person, I'm sure some of his close friends wouldn't have recognised him when he walked in.
The Blakes house was also decked out with gold statues, gold plants, fake cigarettes (I think last time there was too many real ones being put out on the carpet) and their living room of course had a massive gold leaf ornament hanging from the ceiling!
The days following the event, various online news outlets gathered photos from Instagram feeds from guests at the party and created articles announcing headlines such as , "Blakes throw wild party only my bank account could quiver about" - Hamish Blake and Zoe Foster Blake throw a Las Vegas Party and the footage is wild!" - "Inside Hamish and Zoe Foster Blake's Las Vegas themed soiree" - "Inside the Blake's extravagant party".
